VPAA Seeks Vertical Actors to Refer for Marvel Studios Opportunities

As Marvel's search for young, unknown talent continues, the association is identifying vertical performers it can put forward.

VPAA Seeks Vertical Actors to Refer for Marvel Studios Opportunities

VPAA is actively looking for vertical actors the association can refer for Marvel Studios opportunities, as the studio’s search for young, unknown talent continues.

Why vertical talent fits

Marvel’s casting has a long history of finding leads outside the usual pipeline. Vertical drama has, in under three years, produced a generation of performers who have each carried dozens of series, built audiences in the millions and learned to deliver emotion in seconds. Many have never had an agent. Most have never been seen by a studio casting office.

The association’s role is to close that distance. Where a studio is looking for new faces, VPAA can put forward performers whose work is verified and whose audiences are real.

How to be considered

Are you a vertical actor? Make yourself known to the association. Know someone who deserves the shot? Tag them, or send their name.

The association does not promise any outcome. Referral is not casting, and the studio makes its own decisions. What VPAA can do is make sure the format’s best performers are in the room when the conversation happens, which is more than the industry has offered them until now.

The response to this call was larger than the association expected, and the follow-up is published separately.
